HATTON COUNTRY WORLD, May 23 rd to 28 th 2024

Image
Arrived on Thursday to be greeted by marshals J & J and KS to find that on their arrival at Hatton Country World they had been told the rally field was unfortunately so wet that it was not useable. The site offered a small grass area and the bus parking car park as an alternative. The marshals were not fazed and set plan B in action. JW was also marshalling, but due to work couldn’t arrive until later in the day, escaping the issues they had encountered. We did manage to get stuck, with our 4x4 off roader and once we had been rescued by J we were soon pitched. The rally was a mixture of sunshine and showers, but we managed to sit out and socialise every day. The location was lovely and only a short walk from the Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal, where there are 21 locks which bring the canal up from Warwick to Hatton. It was a nice 2 mile walk along the canal into Warwick, where we enjoyed a well-earned pint. Hatton Country World hosts a garden centre and a shopping villag...

Fortway Farm Leisure & Fishery, May 2024

Marshall’s S & PR. A fantastic site with clean facilities and a well-stocked fishing lake. Calor gas bottles for exchange on site too at a good price. The weather was gorgeous so the fishing was very enjoyable hence we fished for 12 hours on the Saturday Unfortunately due to this we weren’t very sociable in the group. But everyone seemed to be having a great time doing what they wanted. It was a very friendly group with lots of laughs and warm welcomes. We didn’t venture off site at all. But others did and explored the nearby attractions and walks. S & PR were very helpful and friendly as always. Gained more fishing tips off PR Looking forward to going again next year and hope we can make it a regular event as it’s a lovely well-maintained site. D & DS

Lees Meadow Farm, May Day Weekend 2024

Image
May Day weekend was spent at Lees Meadow’s and the campsite is a beautiful site and the views are amazing. Arrived Friday afternoon and it was raining but it didn’t bother me as I had to do some work while waiting for my other half to come from work. Friday night for us a chill night just watching the world go by. Saturday, we woke to better weather, it was nice summers day. Had a drive out to Rowsley peak outlet. Saturday afternoon was very eventful with one of the highland cows climbing over the wall. It was entertaining waiting for the farmer to turn up and wondering how to get him back in the field. But he did it. Sunday, we woke to another beautiful day, it was nice as we just sat around chilling and chatting until CS came back from her walk with her dog and had us in stitches about the cow (Dolly) that chased her through the field. We haven’t laughed so much over the story lol. Monday came and it was yet another beautiful day but home time. MM This is Dolly after her bath.
