Shelthill Fishing Rally 2024.

Image
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think around 16 units attended, well what can I say, another fantastic weekend at Shelthill, fantastic food provided by S and JP. Excellently cooked and prepared, variety of toppings on a large jacket potato (ask JW, he filled his boots with the overs) excellent value, worth every penny. Thank you both and your helpers. There was also a village Fete which I know H & PC went to and enjoyed, saying it was busy with a lot of stalls, fun games and music. The Nag’s head was within walking distance, and I believe a few members went over for a meal. Fishing comp was great and although it was only entered by a few members it was fun and in good spirits. But competitive, I have to beat the hubby! In the words of Darth Vader “Now I am the master “I have the trophies to prove it now. The weather was excellent with lots of sunshine allowing interaction in the sun away from the fishing and on an evening. Great company and nattering with plenty of flowing alcohol

A lovely rally run by SR & PR and SP & JP. A great little site with a children's park nearby and some fabulous walks. One along the canal which takes you to a pub ( Halfway House ) at Donisthorpe which has a great beer garden with children's play area. The weather was cloudy with some sunshine apart from some heavy rain during Saturday night. Thursday was a chill out afternoon/evening with members sitting outside together catching up and then later retiring to the clubs party tent, for more catchup time and laughs. Friday we took a walk along the canal to the pub for a pint and a cheese and onion cob. We had a blackout and won happy days lol. Then we all met up in the party tent to socialize together and enjoy a drink and some snacks brought in by a member. Saturday in the morning we went for a walk to the local co-op and post office/off license. It was a fantastic afternoon playing games, Shuffleboard, cornhole, hook ring toss game, quoits and horseshoe throw. The men

HATTON COUNTRY WORLD, May 23 rd to 28 th 2024

Arrived on Thursday to be greeted by marshals J & J and KS to find that on their arrival at Hatton Country World they had been told the rally field was unfortunately so wet that it was not useable. The site offered a small grass area and the bus parking car park as an alternative. The marshals were not fazed and set plan B in action. JW was also marshalling, but due to work couldn’t arrive until later in the day, escaping the issues they had encountered. We did manage to get stuck, with our 4x4 off roader and once we had been rescued by J we were soon pitched. The rally was a mixture of sunshine and showers, but we managed to sit out and socialise every day. The location was lovely and only a short walk from the Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal, where there are 21 locks which bring the canal up from Warwick to Hatton. It was a nice 2 mile walk along the canal into Warwick, where we enjoyed a well-earned pint. Hatton Country World hosts a garden centre and a shopping village wh

Fortway Farm Leisure & Fishery, May 2024

Marshall’s S & PR. A fantastic site with clean facilities and a well-stocked fishing lake. Calor gas bottles for exchange on site too at a good price. The weather was gorgeous so the fishing was very enjoyable hence we fished for 12 hours on the Saturday Unfortunately due to this we weren’t very sociable in the group. But everyone seemed to be having a great time doing what they wanted. It was a very friendly group with lots of laughs and warm welcomes. We didn’t venture off site at all. But others did and explored the nearby attractions and walks. S & PR were very helpful and friendly as always. Gained more fishing tips off PR Looking forward to going again next year and hope we can make it a regular event as it’s a lovely well-maintained site. D & DS

Lees Meadow Farm, May Day Weekend 2024

Image
May Day weekend was spent at Lees Meadow’s and the campsite is a beautiful site and the views are amazing. Arrived Friday afternoon and it was raining but it didn’t bother me as I had to do some work while waiting for my other half to come from work. Friday night for us a chill night just watching the world go by. Saturday, we woke to better weather, it was nice summers day. Had a drive out to Rowsley peak outlet. Saturday afternoon was very eventful with one of the highland cows climbing over the wall. It was entertaining waiting for the farmer to turn up and wondering how to get him back in the field. But he did it. Sunday, we woke to another beautiful day, it was nice as we just sat around chilling and chatting until CS came back from her walk with her dog and had us in stitches about the cow (Dolly) that chased her through the field. We haven’t laughed so much over the story lol. Monday came and it was yet another beautiful day but home time. MM This is Dolly after her bath.

VALENTINES RALLY, COPT OAK MEMORIAL HALL, FEBRUARY 15th to 18th 2024.

A lovely rally run by S & J P plus lots of helpers. The Hall was beautifully decorated and the food was lovely, followed by fun and games and music, What more could you ask for? Many thanks for all the hard work that goes into running a rally like this. As fairly new members of the 4c's Caravan Club we would like to say how welcome we have been made to feel by this friendly caring club. Thank you. S & TW

Burns Rally Report January 2024

Well what can I say, what a great weekend. We stayed at the site in Copt Oak which also benefited from having a hall to get together in which was a bonus. First time out this year and it definitely started off as well as it could have. We arrived Friday and were greeted by GB who was marshalling and instructed us where to park. Was initially concerned as being in a Motorhome obviously I would have preferred hard standing but there was plenty available so there wasn’t any need to worry. Finally got settled in after realising I had forgot my water barrel and had to go to the tap and fill up which was not a problem as there was plenty of room to manoeuvre. Friday night we headed over to the hall where we had some games off bingo with a very peculiar caller who seemingly had his own definition of calling. This included mentioning a colour that was required and reading them out as fast as possible and of course it was already harder due to his Scottish accent, let you guess who.  Great nigh
