Hollington End Farm, Thorpe June 19th – 23rd



 Twelve caravans attended this scenic rally near Dovedale. The working farm was nestled among the rolling hills and close to iconic walking routes. The site offered a peaceful and welcoming base for the weekend. 

The rally brought together a great mix of familiar faces and new members. The  weekend offered a great opportunity to socialise, explore and enjoy some light – hearted fun despite the mixed weather. 

We arrived  Thursday afternoon. The weather was very hot and most of us took the chance to relax outside, enjoying the sunshine. 

Friday more member arrived throughout the day and were greeted by the marshals. The evening featured a get together with drinks and lots of laughs, as everyone caught up and welcomed new members. The sound of chatter and laughter echoed across the rally field.  

Saturday evening we gathered in the social tent for flag and a raffle with a range of donated prizes. Thank you to everyone who contributed. The proceeds will go towards the clubs chosen charity. The Air Ambulance. A light hearted quiz followed, which proved to be both fun and competitive. Well done to the winning couple HC & PC.  The lucky van draw was won by JW. 

Sunday  morning we said farewell to a few members who needed to head home. In the evening the fun continued with a cheerful game of bingo. Thanks to ND for the entertaining bingo calling and to Slug for the delicious cream cakes. 

Many thanks to the rally marshals SP & JP for their warm hospitality over the weekend and a warm welcome again to the new members – we hope you enjoyed your first rally and look forward to seeing you at many more.

Thank you to the Marshals SP and JP for their friendly welcome and the organising and running of the Rally. Co Marshalls BT and GG. 9 units attended, pitched on hardstanding at the side of the Memorial Hall. Thursday – Legs down upon arrival. Free and easy day. Lovely sunny afternoon. Friday – More arrivals. Free and easy day. Evening meal at the Copt Oak pub, a good number attended. The highlight of the weekend was on Saturday evening and the early celebration of Halloween. Everyone joined in and there were fantastic costumes, make up and spooky table accessories on display. The Memorial Hall was decorated to add to the ambience. SP organised and led a team to lay on a fantastic buffet for the evening. Thank you to SP and team. The buffet and the seated area looked fantastic. Darley Moor Motor Cycle Race Club September 26th - 29th

  We arrived Thursday and received a warm welcome from MC and W who then showed us where to go. It was raining so lucky for us the ground was level so we were able to reverse in and get the van level both ways the first time. I then sat and had a catchup with W and S while PR went out in the car to fetch ours and other members water. Thursday night was cold and wet so we all relaxed in our own vans. Friday the weather was a lot better and we were able to sit out with the other members and have a chat and a good catch up. The club's tea urn had broken so W made drinks and bacon sandwiches for some of the members using his outdoor kitchen. Friday night we all went into the party tent where we had a few games of cards ( Sticky thirteen ) that SP organised, which was very amusing. Saturday some of the members went into Ashbourne for a few hours, we went to a nearby garden center and others went for a walk upto the race track to watch the cycle racing. Lyndon Top Rutland water August 1st - 4th

  What a lovely weekend at Lyndon Top we arrived on Thursday afternoon and the sun was shining, we had heavy rain Thursday evening, but we woke up to sunshine again on Friday, unfortunately we woke to rain on Saturday but it soon cleared up and the sun shone again until we left Sunday afternoon. We had eleven vans in attendance which for saying this was a last minute replacement for the golden cup was fantastic. Thursday afternoon and evening was free and easy, getting set up and catching up with everyone.  Friday was another free and easy day, we went for a walk around the site which had some stunning views overlooking the lake and then in the evening some of us met up in the party tent for a good chat, lots of laughs and a few games of sticky thirteen.                                                                ...
