Halloween Copt Oak, Markfield October 30th - November 2nd
Rich and I arrived at the rally on Friday teatime. We were greeted by Shelley with a lovely smile who gave us our rally packs. She also gave us the name of a horror film to draw a picture of, which was to be used in a game later on Saturday evening. We popped over to the local pub, The Copped Oak for some tea where we bumped into Ian and Ang who had just finished eating and were heading back to the rally. The food was lovely. We headed back over to the rally where we joined some others went into the hall to socialise and have a drink.
Saturday morning bright and early I went over to the hall to meet Shelley and Helen to start preparing the buffet food for the evening social event. Webber popped over and helped us put up the Halloween decorations. The food and room were looking great so we popped back to the vans for a well-earned rest. We all headed over to the hall at around 6 pm, and Shelley asked us to put the pictures we had all drawn onto the wall. we had to guess which Horror Film or Song each picture was off and write it down. The winner was announced and the raffle, lucky van ticket was drawn. Votes were counted and the winner of the best dressed costume was announced, before Shelley got people up playing what's in the box. One by one we were blind folded and led down a row of boxes having our hands submerged in each as we went down. We had to try and guess what was in each one. There were some very peculiar Scary and strange things within the boxes. There were lots of loud urgh, squeals laughs and giggles. This was followed by a game of who could bind the mummy the quickest, each couple had one person blind folded who would attempt to wrap a toilet roll around their partner. The children were all given a goodie bag, there were sweets for everyone who took part in the games and prizes for the winners. At the end of the evening, some of the members helped take down the decorations and clear up.
Sunday morning some members went to the hall to put the furniture away and finish cleaning the room and then we all said our goodbyes and went home.
