Copt Oak Early Halloween. 3 nights 24 th – 26th October 2024

Thank you to the Marshals SP and JP for their friendly welcome and the

organising and running of the Rally. Co Marshalls BT and GG. 9 units

attended, pitched on hardstanding at the side of the Memorial Hall.

Thursday – Legs down upon arrival. Free and easy day. Lovely sunny afternoon.

Friday – More arrivals. Free and easy day. Evening meal at the Copt Oak pub, a

good number attended.

The highlight of the weekend was on Saturday evening and the early

celebration of Halloween. Everyone joined in and there were fantastic

costumes, make up and spooky table accessories on display. The Memorial Hall

was decorated to add to the ambience. SP organised and led a team to lay

on a fantastic buffet for the evening. Thank you to SP and team. The

buffet and the seated area looked fantastic.

SP introduced and ran the raffle and games. £32.00 raised for Air

Ambulance. Thank you to all the members who donated raffle prizes. The

spooky game ideas came from GG and SP ran them. Couples

challenged each other and it was all great fun.

Lucky Ticket draw for Admin Voucher went to MC.

Knockout balloon and cup game 1st – SP took 25 seconds to move all the

cups. 2 nd - GG on 31 seconds.

‘Keepy Uppy balloon’ whilst putting balls in a bin – 1st HC putting all the balls

in the bin in 54 seconds.

Every member then voted for their favourite costume. 1st prize went to GG

dressed as the ‘Living Dead’ complete with hanging eyeball. BT was 2 nd ,

again one of the ‘Living Dead’ with rat eating an exposed brain. 3 rd was JP in

his dashing and slightly scary Werewolf costume. Well done everyone. Great

costumes, great make up.

Another fantastic Halloween fund raising event with great food, conversation

and catching up with friends. Looking forward to Halloween 2025.

 Arrived on Thursday to be greeted by marshals J & J and KS to find that on their arrival at Hatton Country World they had been told the rally field was unfortunately so wet that it was not useable. The site offered a small grass area and the bus parking car park as an alternative. The marshals were not fazed and set plan B in action. JW was also marshalling, but due to work couldn’t arrive until later in the day, escaping the issues they had encountered.We did manage to get stuck, with our 4x4 off roader and once we had been rescued by J we were soon pitched. The rally was a mixture of sunshine and showers, but we managed to sit out and socialise every day. The location was lovely and only a short walk from the Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal, where there are 21 locks which bring the canal up from Warwick to Hatton. It was a nice 2 mile walk along the canal into Warwick, where we enjoyed a well-earned pint. Hatton Country World hosts a garden centre and a shopping villag...

Lyndon Top Rutland water August 1st - 4th

  What a lovely weekend at Lyndon Top we arrived on Thursday afternoon and the sun was shining, we had heavy rain Thursday evening, but we woke up to sunshine again on Friday, unfortunately we woke to rain on Saturday but it soon cleared up and the sun shone again until we left Sunday afternoon. We had eleven vans in attendance which for saying this was a last minute replacement for the golden cup was fantastic. Thursday afternoon and evening was free and easy, getting set up and catching up with everyone.  Friday was another free and easy day, we went for a walk around the site which had some stunning views overlooking the lake and then in the evening some of us met up in the party tent for a good chat, lots of laughs and a few games of sticky thirteen.                                                                ...

Moira Furnace Museum & co, June 27th to 30th 2024

A lovely rally run by SR & PR and SP & JP. A great little site with a children's park nearby and some fabulous walks. One along the canal which takes you to a pub ( Halfway House ) at Donisthorpe which has a great beer garden with children's play area. The weather was cloudy with some sunshine apart from some heavy rain during Saturday night. Thursday was a chill out afternoon/evening with members sitting outside together catching up and then later retiring to the clubs party tent, for more catchup time and laughs. Friday we took a walk along the canal to the pub for a pint and a cheese and onion cob. We had a blackout and won happy days lol. Then we all met up in the party tent to socialize together and enjoy a drink and some snacks brought in by a member. Saturday in the morning we went for a walk to the local co-op and post office/off license.
