Hatton Country world May 21st - 26th




 Our rally at Hatton Country World was held in a lovely setting, providing a peaceful campsite

with plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The weather was

exceptional throughout the rally, with sunshine and high temperatures every day. As a

result, most members spent their time unwinding, socialising, and making the most of the

glorious conditions.

On Friday evening, Barbara treated everyone to a delicious curry, which was greatly

appreciated by all. Jay kindly supplied authentic Indian samosas and onion bhajis to

accompany the meal, adding an extra touch of flavour to the evening. Afternoon cake

became a welcome daily tradition and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

A special mention must go to Jay, who forgot to apply sun cream, suffered a rather

impressive sunburn, and ended up with a touch of sunstroke—proof that there’s always

one! 

By Sunday afternoon, the temperatures had eased slightly, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant

walk along the canal. This was followed by refreshments at the café, where we watched the

canal boats negotiate the locks.

The rally was expertly marshalled by David and Barbara, whose hard work and organisation

ensured that everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time. Our thanks go to

them both for a fantastic rally.

  Twelve caravans attended this scenic rally near Dovedale. The working farm was nestled among the rolling hills and close to iconic walking routes. The site offered a peaceful and welcoming base for the weekend.   The rally brought together a great mix of familiar faces and new members . The  weekend offered a great opportunity to socialise, explore and enjoy some light – hearted fun despite the mixed weather .   We arrived  Thursday afternoon . The weather was very hot and most of us took the chance to relax outside, enjoying the sunshine .   Friday more member arrived throughout the day and were greeted by the marshals. Newstead Abbey Rally. 1940’s themed May Day Weekend. May 1st – May 6 th 2025

  Newstead Abbey Rally. 1940’s themed May Day Weekend.  May 1st – May 6 th 2025 A warm welcome from Gord and Bev the Camp Wardens (Marshals) for this 1940’s themed rally. The Rally took place on the ‘Little Paradise Field’ at the rear of Newstead Abbey. The weather was warm and sunny. All service personnel were asked to report to the War Office upon arrival. Gas mask boxes were distributed and warnings given about the unexploded bombs. A total of 13 units attended. An Air Raid Warning Siren and shrill whistle blowing from the ARP Warden signalled the start of the activities every day. 40’s music was played in the background to add to the ambience. A treasure hunt over the few days was set amongst the grounds of Newstead. Items to be collected added to the mystery and challenge. On the Friday evening the backward raffle and live 40’s themed quiz challenged all the rally members. Again, another glorious day, but cooler in the evening. The party tent helped keep us cosy. Easter weekend Bakewell Showground April 17th - 22nd 2025

             Bakewell Easter Weekend 17 th – 22 nd April Rally Arrived on Thursday and set up in the sunshine. Lovely location with the town of Bakewell and the Monsal Trail both only being a ten minute walk away. Friday was a free and easy day with a walk into Bakewell for us. The evening was a bit too chilli to go to the social tent, so, chilled in the caravan with the dogs.  Saturday, we enjoyed Hot cross buns and apple pie in the social tent and then walked part of the Monsal Trail to the old railway station, and down into Bakewell to burn off the calories. The evening was fun packed, starting with Lisa’s home-made scones, followed by a music quiz and backward raffle. Well done to Chris and Mel for winning the quiz. Sunday began with an easter egg hunt for the children, which went down very well. We then walked into Bakewell and after a bit of shopping stopped off at the Peacock for a pint in the sunshine.
