Newstead Abbey Rally. 1940’s themed May Day Weekend.  May 1st – May 6 th 2025 A warm welcome from Gord and Bev the Camp Wardens (Marshals) for this 1940’s themed rally. The Rally took place on the ‘Little Paradise Field’ at the rear of Newstead Abbey. The weather was warm and sunny. All service personnel were asked to report to the War Office upon arrival. On the Friday evening the backward raffle and live 40’s themed quiz challenged all the rally members. Again, another glorious day, but cooler in the evening. The party tent helped keep us cosy. The evening was fun packed, starting with Lisa’s home-made scones, followed by a music quiz and backward raffle. Well done to Chris and Mel for winning the quiz. Sunday began with an easter egg hunt for the children, which went down very well. We then walked into Bakewell and after a bit of shopping stopped off at the Peacock for a pint in the sunshine. The evening was again fun packed wi...
