Moira Furnace, Firework Weekend Rally Report 7th-8th November

Moira Furnace, Firework Weekend

Arrived just after lunch, greeted by Graham our marshal, and a welcome cup of tea, sited van, legs down and got sorted, nice of the landowner to mow the grass prior to the rally, really had a job to keep the grass out. Friday evening rain stopped for us to just step out and watch the fireworks from the back of the vans. Saturday, a much better day, we all congregated around Graham and Julies at tea time for our free raffle, hot dogs went down a treat along with the mushy peas, all enjoyed by all, then the fireworks again, this time we ventured off site into the adjacent field for an uninterrupted view, brilliant 20 minutes of aerial fireworks, back to the rally field this time to be treated by Roger to his rocket display, a lovely evening prior to it going cold. Sunday came, dull but dry, a quick walk around the Furnace grounds and canal before heading home. Thank you, Graham & Julie, for a lovely rally. L & JB
